Running Weekends — Guided Trail Running Weekend Trips
Two days is enough. Leave Friday evening, run something genuinely memorable on Saturday, run something shorter and better on Sunday, be home for dinner.
Running weekends are our most-booked format because they fit around real life. No annual leave, no long-haul travel, and you still get two guided days on ground you'd struggle to plan yourself.
We run weekends in the Peak District, the Lake District, Snowdonia, the Yorkshire Dales, the Cotswolds and on the Cornish coast path. Clubs and friend groups book private weekends on their own dates.

How the weekend runs
- Friday evening — arrive, kit check, route briefing, an early night
- Saturday — the main route: usually 20–30 km with real climbing, adjusted for the group
- Sunday — a shorter run, 10–16 km, chosen so you finish on a high rather than wrecked
Distances you can expect
| Day | Distance | Ascent |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday — main route | 20–30 km | 700–1,400 m |
| Sunday — recovery route | 10–16 km | 250–600 m |
Both are adjusted on the day. If the forecast is bad on Saturday, we swap the days round.

Frequently asked questions
How far do you run on a running weekend?
Typically 20–30 km on the Saturday with 700–1,400 m of climbing, and a shorter 10–16 km route on the Sunday. Both are adjusted to the group on the day.
Do I need to be able to navigate?
No. Your guide navigates. If you want to learn, say so and we'll teach you as we go — most people pick up the basics over a weekend.
Where do we stay?
We can arrange accommodation as part of the weekend or you can book your own nearby. Tell us which when you enquire.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We still run — that's British trail running. What changes is the route: exposed high ground is swapped for sheltered valleys and woodland when conditions call for it.
