Running Holidays UK — Guided Running Trips & Breaks

    Certified guides UK-wide Fast turnaround

A running holiday should mean waking up somewhere beautiful, running a route someone who knows the ground picked for you, and having none of the planning to do yourself.

Our running holidays run across the UK — Snowdonia, the Lake District, the Scottish Highlands, the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, the Cotswolds and the Cornish coast. You run daily, guided, on routes chosen for your ability and the conditions that week. We handle the route planning, the navigation, the pacing and the logistics.

These are small-group trips, not coach tours. Most groups are four to eight runners, and we split into pace groups when spread demands it, so a first-time trail runner and someone training for an ultra can be on the same trip without either having a bad week.

    Where you can go

    • Snowdonia — mountain trails and ridgelines, the most technical ground we run
    • Lake District — classic fell and lakeside running, huge variety in a small area
    • Scottish Highlands — remote, wild, long days with very few people
    • Peak District — gritstone edges and moorland, easy to reach from most of England
    • Yorkshire Dales — limestone trails and drystone-wall country
    • Cornwall — coast path running, relentless small climbs, sea the whole way
    • Cotswolds — rolling escarpment, the gentlest introduction we offer

    How the trip runs

    1. Before you travel — we agree dates, confirm your ability level, send a kit list and a route outline for each day
    2. Day one — a shorter run to settle everyone in, check pacing and get the group working together
    3. Middle days — the main routes, with the biggest day placed where the forecast is best
    4. Final day — a shorter, scenic route so you finish on a high rather than wrecked

    Frequently asked questions

How fit do I need to be?

If you can run for 60–90 minutes on a road or path, you can enjoy a guided running holiday with us. Trail pace is slower than road pace, and we walk the steep climbs — almost everyone does.

    Is accommodation included?

It can be. Some people want the whole trip bundled, others prefer to book their own place. Tell us which when you enquire and we'll quote accordingly.

What if the weather is bad?

We run in most weather — that's British trail running. What changes is the route. Your guide swaps exposed high ground for sheltered valleys and woodland when conditions call for it.

Can I come on my own?

Most of our runners do. Small groups mean solo runners fit in immediately, and the pace grouping means you're never running alone unless you want to.

Do you take groups and clubs?

Yes — private trips for clubs, friend groups and corporate teams are some of our most popular bookings. Pricing works out lower per person.

    Ready to run?

Tell us your dates, your rough weekly mileage and where you'd like to run. We'll come back with the routes we'd recommend, availability and a price.
